The Amboseli reserve is located on the border of Kenya and Tanzania. Its beauty is exciting and amazing and it is considered one of the most popular and well-liked reserves in Africa. This “title” is attached to it because of the direct encounter with the great flocks of elephants living within it. Alongside the elephants, thousands of animals live in their natural habitat: zebras, cheetahs, lions, hippopotamuses, gnus with white beards, hyenas, waterbucks, turtles, crocodiles, leopards, and about 600 species of birds.
One of the most prominent elements in the landscape of the nature reserve is Mount Kilimanjaro. The mountain is located in the territory of Tanzania (across the border) and holds the record for the highest mountain peak in Africa. The Kilimanjaro rises to a height of 5895 meters. The mountain’s peak is shining white as a result of the heavy snow falling upon it during the winter. If your visit happens to take place on a day with good visibility, you will be able to enjoy a delightful natural studio (a matter of luck).
Nature lover? You can explore five different habitats. Beginning with the solid, dry land of the Amboseli Lake, swamps with sulfur springs, savanna and forests, up to the water pools created by the strong rains or the mountain snow melting.
Inside the Amboseli Park lives the Maasai tribe. The tribe’s people are accustomed to stand at the side of the roads dressed in their traditional red clothes. Members of the Maasai tribe make a living by selling handmade crafts. They act to preserve and protect anim.
